From Napkin to Nasdaq: Navigating the Road to $ARAI

The latest Learn at Launch event, held on January 30, 2026, brought together a packed room of entrepreneurs and investors at Launch Fishers to hear the remarkable story of Arrive AI (NASDAQ: ARAI). The session featured a candid panel discussion with the leadership team that steered the company from a “corny” idea in a field to a billion-dollar valuation on the NASDAQ.

The panel included:

  • Dan O’Toole, Chief Executive Officer, Founder, and Chairman
  • Neerav Shah, Chief Strategy Officer and Director
  • Todd Pepmeier, Chief Financial Officer
  • Drew Blair, Moderator (and Arrive AI investor)

The “Corny” Origin Story

The journey began in 2014 when Dan O’Toole was driving through a rural Indiana cornfield [06:15]. He spotted someone flying a drone and realized that while drone delivery was the future, the industry hadn’t solved the “last inch” of the problem: where would the package actually land safely?

Inspired, he rushed home to sketch out “Mailbox 2.0.” His urgency proved prescient; by filing his patent immediately, he managed to beat tech giant Amazon by just four days and the U.S. Postal Service by two weeks [08:35].

Navigating the Road to NASDAQ

The road wasn’t without its hurdles. The team shared stories of the early days at the IoT Lab, where they started with just a handful of people in a small room [01:13].

  • Transparency First: O’Toole emphasized his unconventional CEO style, which includes giving his personal phone number to over 5,000 investors [16:41]. He believes that owning the “bad news” is what builds true investor confidence.
  • The Trading Day: CFO Todd Pepmeier recalled the surreal experience of the company’s first day of trading, where the stock briefly hit a price that valued the company at $1.4 billion [32:02].
  • A Historic Bell Ringing: To celebrate their listing, Arrive AI invited their massive shareholder community to New York, hosting one of the largest bell-ringing ceremonies in NASDAQ history with over 400 participants [39:55].

What’s Next for Arrive AI?

The company is currently in a phase of rapid scaling, having hired over 40 employees since July 2025 [44:14].

  • AI and Infrastructure: Arrive AI is leveraging AI to optimize scheduling and capacity for their “Arrive Points” (smart mailboxes). They also recently announced a partnership with Nvidia to bring high-powered computing workstations to their Fishers headquarters [54:02].
  • Expanding Use Cases: Beyond consumer packages, the team is moving into healthcare logistics (chain-of-custody for medical supplies) and is working closely with the USPS on designations for mail slots [43:04, 55:38].
  • Returning to the Bell: Dan O’Toole announced that the team will return to the NASDAQ for a closing bell ceremony on July 13, 2026, with RSVPs opening in February [40:12].

As they look toward a five-year goal of 100,000 units [49:52], Arrive AI remains a testament to the power of a bold idea and the strength of the Indiana tech ecosystem.
