29 Sep Recapping Learn at Launch: Vision, Traction and Value
Have you ever felt like you’re running a million miles a minute, but your business isn’t really getting anywhere? Or maybe you’re doing great, but you know there’s a better, more strategic way to get things done? If you answered yes, you’re not alone. That feeling of being constantly in the weeds is something countless entrepreneurs and small business owners can relate to.
That’s why we were thrilled to have Ashley Walters, an EOS Implementer® and Certified Exit Planning Advisor, with us to lead September’s Learn at Launch session titled “Vision, Traction, and Value – Your 2026 Game Plan.”
Ashley’s mission is simple: to help people build valuable businesses that works for them, so they can stop reacting and start building a future they’ve actually planned for.
Watch the full presentation recording here, and see below for a breakdown of the key takeaways (and how you can apply them to your own business journey).
1. Let’s Be Real About the Challenges
Ashley kicked things off by talking about the common frustrations we all face. You know the ones:
- Working harder than ever, but the business feels heavier.
- Growing fast, but making the same mistakes over and over.
- Too many priorities and not enough accountability.
We’ve all been there. Her goal was to help us all get out of the day-to-day chaos and start working “on” our businesses, not just “in” them.
2. The Power of EOS: The Entrepreneurial Operating System
So, how do we do that? Ashley introduced us to the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS), a simple yet powerful set of concepts and tools designed to help you get more of what you want from your business. EOS is built on three core ideas:
- Vision: Get everyone in your company 100% on the same page, rowing in the same direction.
- Traction: Bring that vision to life by consistently executing on your goals.
- Healthy: Build a strong, functional, and cohesive leadership team that genuinely works well together.
3. Strengthening the Six Key Components
A truly great business, Ashley explained, isn’t about luck—it’s about strengthening six key components: Vision, People, Data, Issues, Process, and Traction. While many businesses succeed despite only being about 20% strong in these areas, imagine the growth you could unlock by getting to 80%! This is where true, lasting value is built.
4. Aligning Your Vision for the Future
Ashley challenged us to think big, way beyond this year’s goals. She had us close our eyes and visualize our business three years from now, specifically at the end of 2028. What does it look like? How much revenue are you generating? How many people are on your team? This “three-year picture” isn’t just a dream; it’s a strategic blueprint that helps you work backward and figure out the steps you need to take to get there.
5. Driving Traction with Rocks
Once you have your long-term vision, it’s all about taking action. Ashley calls the most important priorities “rocks,” and she recommends focusing on 3 to 7 of them each quarter. Rocks should be SMART: Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Timely. A great way to think about it is: “I need to do X by Y.”
6. The Meeting Pulse: Your Secret Weapon
So, how do you make sure you’re actually hitting those rocks? It comes down to accountability. Ashley shared the “Level 10 Meeting” format, a structured weekly meeting that keeps teams on track. By spending 90 minutes each week talking about your scorecard numbers and rocks and solving issues for the long term, you create a consistent rhythm that drives your business forward.
In Conclusion: Your Next Step
The session was a powerful reminder that building a valuable, successful business isn’t just about hard work; it’s about being intentional. It’s about taking the time to define your vision, build accountability into your daily work, and strengthen the core components that will carry you to a bigger, brighter future.
