This year, Launch Fishers is sponsoring an event called CharityPong! This event is an annual charity ping pong tournament to help raise funds for the Indianapolis Walk to Defeat ALS. The tournament will be held this year on August 21st, 2013 at DeveloperTown from 5 pm to 9 pm. The event was originally started by employees of Formstack and One Click Ventures who have been affected by ALS in different ways. CharityPong is open to anyone who would like to support the cause and will include a fun ping pong tournament, snacks, drinks, and a lot of networking.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), often referred to as “Lou Gehrig’s disease,” is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. Around 5,000 people in the United States are diagnosed each year with ALS, and the Walk to Defeat ALS helps raise money for research and advocacy of this debilitating disease.
