We are Looking for a VP of Operations

Launch Fishers is seeking a Vice President of Operations. This is a new position for the organization, reporting to the CEO,.  The VP of Operations will assume operational responsibilities and management of employees and contractors in several lines of business including:  Launch Fishers,  Launch Indiana  and  a  portfolio of special events and programs created by Launch Fishers including the Indiana Coworking Passport, Fail Fest, Launch Academy, RISE: The Coffee Shop at Launch Fishers,  Launch Fishers High School Fellowship, Higher Education & K-12 Partnerships (currently in development) and other areas as directed.

We are looking for someone who  possess strong general management skills with a mastery of the tools around administrative leadership. This will be a  be a strong manager who  is  an expert at leading people in alignment with organizational goals.  Strong financial and general business skills are a must as well  as  experience in creating and meeting regular and ad-hoc reporting requirements in the forms of dashboards and regular static reporting.

This position will require  someone to constantly balance the priorities of customers, employees and the organization to arrive at the optimal use of resources to meet the needs of all stakeholders.

The VP of Operations will effectively and efficiently execute our  business plans, strategies and tactics to achieve all organizational goals and objectives while being   flexible and adaptable as growth and change  requires.

Responsibilities Will Include: 

Strategy, Vision and Leadership

  1. Advise the CEO on financial planning, budgeting, cash flow, and policy matters.
  2. Directly oversee the financial accounting process, people and systems.
  3. Serve as the management liaison to the board and audit committee; effectively communicate and present critical financial matters at select board of directors and committee meetings.
  4. Maintain continuous lines of communication, keeping the CEO informed of all critical issues.

Team Development/Leadership

  1. Oversee, direct, and organize the work of the Launch Fishers and Launch Indiana teams including work on the Indiana Coworking Passport, Fail Fest, Launch Academy, Launch Fishers High School Fellowship and Higher Education & K-12 Partnerships currently in development.
  2. Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  3. Ensure staff members receive timely and appropriate training and development.
  4. Establish and monitor staff performance and development goals, set objectives, establish priorities, conduct annual performance appraisals, and administer salary adjustments.
  5. Mentor and develop staff using a supportive and collaborative approach: assign accountabilities; set objectives; establish priorities; and monitor and evaluate results.

Operations

  1. Ensure the organization has appropriate systems, policies, internal controls, accounting standards, and procedures.
  2. Plan, coordinate, and execute the annual budget process.
  3. Ensure legal and regulatory compliance
  4. Manage all contractual relationships
  5. Continually develop and expand our internal management reporting capabilities.
  6. Lead the effort to explore and pursue available grants to fund existing and future programs.

Qualifications

  1. Experience in a senior management role ideally with financial management experience gained in a high-growth organization
  2. Excellent judgment and creative problem solving skills including negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  3. Strong mentoring and coaching experience to a team with varying   levels of experience & expertise
  4. Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with senior management, the board of directors, and staff
  5. Entrepreneurial team player who can handle multiple competing priorities
  6. Superior management skills; ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports and peers
  7. Self-reliant, good problem solver, results oriented
  8. Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive; a   team leader who can positively and productively impact both strategic and tactical initiatives
  9. Passion for entrepreneurship and innovation
